How to Use the Flippa Fee Calculator
This calculator estimates Flippa success fees for sellers, escrow costs for buyers, and reverse-calculates sale prices needed to hit net targets. All amounts are in USD. It covers Flippa's tiered success fee structure, tier-dependent listing packages, and two escrow options with different fee models.
The calculator has four tabs. Results are preserved when you switch tabs, so you can compare different modes without re-entering data.
Seller Mode
Use this mode to calculate your net proceeds after Flippa deducts its success fee and any listing or additional fees.
Sale Price ($): Enter the expected or actual sale price of your listing. This determines both the success fee percentage and which listing packages are available.
Listing Fee (Optional): Select a listing package from the dropdown. The available options depend on your sale price tier, with rates drawn from Flippa's pricing:
| Tier | Available Packages |
|---|---|
| Sub $10K | Entry ($29), Boosted ($49), Premium ($199) |
| $10K - $49.9K | Standard ($49), Premium ($399), Ultimate ($599) |
| $50K - $99.9K | Standard ($129), Premium ($399), Ultimate ($699) |
| $100K - $249.9K | Standard ($149), Premium ($699), M&A Broker ($799) |
| $250K - $499.9K | Standard ($199), Premium ($799), M&A Broker ($899) |
| $500K - $999.9K | Standard ($199), Premium ($799), M&A Broker ($899) |
| $1M - $4.9M | M&A Broker ($1,299) |
| $5M - $9.9M | M&A Broker ($1,299) |
| $10M - $49.9M | M&A Broker ($1,499) |
| $50M+ | M&A Broker ($1,499) |
If you change the sale price after selecting a listing fee and the new tier does not include that package, the selection resets automatically.
Additional Fees ($) (Optional): Enter any extra fees such as upgrades, broker fees, or third-party costs. These are deducted alongside the success and listing fees.
Enter your sale price to see the success fee, optional listing and additional fees, and your net proceeds.
Example: A $100,000 sale with Standard listing ($149) and no additional fees:
- Success fee tier: $100K - $249.9K at 10%
- Success fee: $10,000
- Listing fee: $149
- Total fees: $10,149
- Your net proceeds: $89,851
Example: A $750,000 sale with M&A Broker listing ($899):
- Success fee tier: $500K - $999.9K at 9%
- Success fee: $67,500
- Listing fee: $899
- Total fees: $68,399
- Your net proceeds: $681,601
Formula: net = salePrice - (salePrice × percentage / 100) - listingFee - additionalFees
Buyer Mode
Use this mode to calculate the total cost of your purchase including escrow fees.
Purchase Price ($): Enter the agreed purchase price.
Escrow Method: Choose how the transaction is handled, with details from Flippa's escrow fee documentation:
- FlippaPay (0.5%): Flat 0.5% fee for transactions of $10,000 and above
- Escrow.com (20% off): Tiered fee structure for all transaction sizes, with Flippa-discounted rates
The FlippaPay option is disabled in the dropdown if your purchase price is below $10,000.
Example via FlippaPay: A $50,000 purchase:
- Escrow fee (0.5%): $250
- Total you pay: $50,250
Example via Escrow.com: A $50,000 purchase:
- Escrow tier: $25,000.01+ at 0.71%
- Escrow fee: $355
- Total you pay: $50,355
Example small purchase via Escrow.com: A $3,000 purchase:
- Escrow tier: $0 - $5,000 at 2.6% ($10 min)
- Escrow fee: $78 (2.6% of $3,000, above $10 minimum)
- Total you pay: $3,078
Formula: total = purchasePrice + escrowFee
Reverse Mode
Use this mode when you know how much you want to net and need to find the sale price that produces it.
Net Amount I Want ($): Enter the amount you want to receive after Flippa's success fee. The calculator uses iterative approximation to find the required sale price, since the fee percentage changes by tier.
Example: You want to net exactly $90,000:
- Required sale price: $100,000
- Success fee: $10,000
- Your net: $90,000
Formula: the calculator estimates a sale price, checks which tier it falls into, applies that tier's percentage, and adjusts until the net amount converges.
FlippaPay Mode
Use this dedicated tab to quickly calculate FlippaPay escrow fees without the buyer mode overhead.
Sale Price ($): Enter the transaction amount. FlippaPay is only available for transactions of $10,000 and above. Entering a lower amount triggers a validation message.
Example: A $100,000 transaction:
- Escrow fee (0.5%): $500
- Total you pay: $100,500
Formula: fee = salePrice × 0.5 / 100

Success Fee Tiers
Flippa charges sellers a tiered success fee based on the final sale price:
| Sale Price Range | Fee Rate |
|---|---|
| Sub $10K | 10% |
| $10K - $49.9K | 10% |
| $50K - $99.9K | 10% |
| $100K - $249.9K | 10% |
| $250K - $499.9K | 10% |
| $500K - $999.9K | 9% |
| $1M - $4.9M | 8% |
| $5M - $9.9M | 7% |
| $10M - $49.9M | 6% |
| $50M+ | 5% |
The fee applies to the full sale price, not a marginal rate. A $500,000 sale pays 9% on the entire amount, not 10% on the first $499,999 and 9% on the remainder.
Escrow.com Discounted Fee Tiers

| $25,000.01+ | 0.71% |

Tips for Accurate Results
- Enter the sale price first in Seller mode: Changing tiers after selecting a package resets the dropdown
- FlippaPay has a $10,000 minimum: For transactions below $10,000, use Escrow.com or the standard Buyer mode
- Success fees are flat percentages per tier: The rate applies to the entire sale price, not just the portion within the tier
- Escrow.com is often cheaper for very small deals: Escrow.com costs $78 on a $3,000 purchase. FlippaPay is unavailable
- Reverse mode uses iterative approximation: The calculator adjusts the sale price automatically until the net target is reached
- Listing fees are fixed costs: They do not scale with sale price. Higher-tier packages offer more visibility and broker support
